Clay poker chips are the most popular chip choice of chip for most players. What makes clay desirable is its softer surface, allowing better stackability than that of a plastic poker chip. Plastic poker chips- The first thing that probably comes to your mind when you think plastic poker chips, are the old "supermarket" poker chips you used to have years ago. Those chips were cheap, light, and yes, plastic. While clay and ceramic chips are the most popular among players, today's plastic chips are quite different than those old supermarket nightmares.

You'll find today's plastic chips are thicker, heaver, and just nicer looking. Most plastic chips today have a metal core to give it a heavy weight, multi colored, and use decorative mold designs to make an overall nice chip.

Ceramic poker chips are professional grade poker chips with a weight of around 10 grams. While many people have heard of clay and plastic poker chips, ceramic chips are usually unfamiliar territory for the beginning or average player. Ceramic chips can accept detailed printing, so you'll find many ceramics with fantastic artwork printed to them. What makes ceramic poker chips so special is that the images are printed directly to the chip, and the image is actually embedded in the chip.
