Clay Poker Chips
Clay poker chips are the most popular chip choice of chip for most players. What makes clay desirable is its softer surface, allowing better stackability than that of a plastic poker chip. Many chips are advertised as clay, even if they are only part clay and part plastic (called composites or clay composites). In order to avoid confusion, we divide our clay chip selections into two categories: Casino Grade Clays and Home/Tournament Grade Clays. Casino Grade clay poker chips are ones that closely replicate or are equal to clay chips found in a Las Vegas casino. Casino Grade chips weigh around 10 grams and have no metal insert. They are made using compression molding and have a very high clay content, giving them sharper edges and the best stackability. You'll pay a premium for this type of chip. Home/Tournament clay poker chips are usually clay composite, and may or may not have a metal insert. Most people who buy clay chips will choose from the home/tournament clays because they represent the best value when comparing quality and price.
